Onshore construction of the Revolution Wind project is set to begin, while offshore construction is scheduled to ramp up in 2024. The wind farm is expected to be operational by 2025, providing clean energy to hundreds of thousands of homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.

About the project

• The Revolution Wind project, developed by Eversource and Ørsted, will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in the region;
• It is located approximately 24.1 km/h south of the Rhode Island coast, 51.4 km/h southeast of the Connecticut coast, and 12 miles southwest of Martha’s Vineyard;
• With a capacity of 704 MW, Revolution Wind will provide 400 MW of clean energy to Rhode Island and 304 MW to Connecticut;
• This energy production can supply more than 350,000 homes in both states, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and the use of renewable sources.
