What kind of changes did you see in your career when you started playing superheroes? Before the Marvel movies, I was an actor for a long time, but I never did anything that kids might see. I really noticed a difference afterward ant ManBecause suddenly they knew who I was.
How did you notice that?I remember every year I did charity work at Children’s Hospital—the kids were amazing, but none of them knew who the hell I was. After Marvel, it was a different experience. It’s so universal that no matter where you go, people have seen Marvel movies.
Ant-Man stories deal with complex concepts such as quantum physics and time travel. Have you had difficulty understanding a lot of theories?Yes, but sometimes you just need to dabble in film science. Quantum physics is awesome. When I was doing the first ant ManI tried to learn as much as I could. I have a friend who actually studies quantum physics at university.
And how did it help?I spent a lot of time asking this friend questions about many complex theories in the exact sciences. It’s a very broad, mind-boggling, and mind-boggling topic. The more you read and try to learn, the more confused you get. However, the more quantum physics reveals itself to me, the more fascinating it becomes.
Some people say that superhero movies are inferior to other types of production. What will you tell them?No matter what kind of movie it is, we as actors try to deal with human relationships and emotions. These are the focal points of the Marvel movies. Before I became a hero, my character is a father trying to bond with his daughter, which is very true. I love interpreting these two sides of the coin, it’s what I look for in any movie I make. It’s great to be a part of something people want to see.
What can we expect from the movie due out in 2023, where we will have a clash between Ant-Man and Kang, a new Marvel villain who promises to be more dangerous than Thanos?Well, I think Thanos and Kang are two very powerful, dangerous, menacing villains. Confronting the two is not easy. I think the audience will respond well to the new villain and be really fascinated by what he does – and how powerful he is.
