Hakan Abrak, president of IO Interactive, revealed that they are working on an origin story for Project 007, with a young James Bond designed for gamers and with the desire for it to become a trilogy of games.
Abrak says production is going very well, which is very important because the company will act as producer, publisher and financier of the project. In his recent interview with IGNAbrak also said they hope to share more details soon.
“We really feel that over 20 years of training on a fictional agent, creating an agent that travels all over the world, has given us some insight into this. But obviously James Bond is a different franchise. It’s not ours. It’s actually the first property that It is not ours from scratch.
“But what’s exciting about the project is that we’re actually writing an origin story. It’s not a game adaptation of a movie. It’s completely taken off and it’s become a story, and hopefully a trilogy in the future. It’s equally important and exciting that it’s a new Bond. It’s a Bond game built from the ground up For players.
Abrak says it’s really exciting to have all the knowledge and history to create the game, designed as a mini-Bond series for players, that players can see as their own and grow with. What’s more, he believes they have something special on their hands, capable of determining a character’s future in video games.
