The Department of Education, Science and Technology (Seduct) released the preliminary results of the More Science Scholarship Program, aimed at higher education, this Thursday (30). The agency had received 96 projects through May 16, when the registration period expired. They were evaluated by the professors of the collaborating educational institutions according to the areas of the submitted projects. According to the Minister of Education, Marcelo Ferris, who would like to provide the resources, he should do so on July 1st and 2nd by emailing [email protected]. The final result will be announced on July 8. This is a selection process for Research and Extension Projects and Selection for IC, Technology Initiation (IT) and Extension (Ext) Students for City Hall Scholarships, and is valid for the period from August 2022 to July 2023. “Up to 58 scholarships for 12 months in IC, IT and Ext categories and 58 seat fees will be awarded, with support from City Hall, through royalties directed to education, for projects developed in the topics proposed in the public notice,” Marcello also explained to the projects. Mais Ciência’s coordinator, Leonora Tinoco, said it was an excellent result. The academic community has joined the program and this number of applicants has been the highest in recent times. This public notice is the result of the Undersecretary of Science and Technology’s work with universities. We followed up with the Universities Committee, where we have a representative from every educational institution in the municipality, public or private, and discussed the public notice, the changes we intend to implement. Leonora also spoke about other news from Mais Ciência. “We also had the question of induced and spontaneous demands. In previous public notices, we worked only with induced notices, those that are part of Annex I, of public notice, those that we were able to raise with city council sectors. But we decided to open up the submission of projects to spontaneous demands. These are the ones in which the professor who develops the research understands that it may be of interest to a section of the city council, and submits the project, which places it as an automatic requirement.(Read less)
The aim, according to the Minister of Education, Marcelo Ferris, is to support, through the award of scholarships and bench fees, the development of projects of interest to secretaries, agents and other bodies of the City Council, in order to stimulate the scientific career, extension and training of new researchers in higher education institutions (HEIs), And clarify the research and activities with the requirements for the process of social and economic development in the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes. The value of the IC, IT or Ext scholarship will be R$483.00 per month. The bench fee for the consulting professor will be R$1500.00, to be paid in two installments. Professors and/or researchers actively exercising their functions, in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and/or in research activities in public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) established in the municipality, can participate.
