Registration is open for two events promoted by the Graduate Programme in Information Sciences and the Department of Information Sciences at the Centre for Education, Communication and the Arts (Ceca) at UEL. From 19 to 21 August, the 10th Symposium on Information Sciences (SECIN) will take place. On 22 and 23 August, it will be the turn of the 8th Symposium on Organizing, Accessing and Appropriating Information and Knowledge (COAIC). Registration for both events is possible until 16 August on the website Sisin that it COAIC.
This edition of SECIN has the theme of Decolonizing Information Science. The event seeks to foster discussions on phenomena related to information science, as well as to enable interaction between professors, undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and professionals in the field.
COAIC is a space where researchers, graduate students and professionals in information science and related fields can reflect and share scientific research. It is coordinated by Professor Thais Battista Zaninelli. The event is held annually and in this edition, discussions on the appropriation of information and knowledge in the management, organization and exchange of information content will be promoted.
