The Secretariat of Environment, Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Semadesc), in collaboration with Embrapa Pantanal, will hold the second and third phases of the fifth edition of the State Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The second and third stages will take place this week, on March 4 and 8 in Ponta Pora and Corumba, respectively, where the topics will be discussed. Next week the conference will move to Tres Lagoas, on March 11, to address the topic “Reindustrialization on new foundations and supporting innovation in companies: Challenges of the interior of Brazil”, at ISI Biomassa.

The first city to host a phase of the state conference was Koksim on February 26, and the topic “Developing science and technology for the benefit of society” was discussed. The final stage will take place in June 2024 in Brasilia (DF). This will be the last stage of many events taking place across the country since November, at municipal and state levels.

This event will bring together researchers, teachers, scientists, students, governmental and non-governmental institutions, opinion leaders and society in general interested in science, technology and innovation (ST&I) to discuss the topics “Technological innovation in the field” and “Biodiversity”.

According to Ricardo Sena, Executive Secretary for Science, Technology and Innovation at Simadesk, the State Conference, an initiative of the Mato Grosso do Sul State Government, aims to raise demands and proposals from the sector, and contribute to the convening and organization of the Regional Conference. “The Mato Grosso do Sul phase will provide financial support to regional and national CT&I conferences,” explains the Executive Secretary.
