Flamingo
Rodrigo Donchi responded to the commentator’s criticism
In recent days, news has emerged Flamingo Captured by the possible turn of the steering wheel Gerson, who currently plays for Olympique de Marseille (France). The Fla team is close to agreeing with the player, who must land this Sunday in Rio de Janeiro to settle the last details with the board and, if all goes well, sign a contract.
Last Friday (30), TV Globo and SporTV commentator Anna Thiss Mattos criticized Gerson’s return to Brazilian football. Ana argued the 25-year-old midfielder could continue his way in Europe rather than play again at Ninho do Urubu, where he was a highlight for the club between 2019-2020.
“I’m sorry to come back. Not for Flamengo, for him (Gerson) it would be great to return to a place, a country and a team that has worked so well, but the first alternative for a player who is frustrated in Europe is to go back to Brazil. He doesn’t try to reinvent himself in another team. Try somewhere else, play in another league, Portugal or Spain, I’m sorry the first alternative is to go back to that comfort zone which is Brazilian football,” Anna said at the time.
Last Saturday (31), it was the turn of Flamengo’s general and legal vice president, Rodrigo Donchi, to hit the journalist on social media. Danchi stated that the midfielder’s spell in Europe was good and Brazilian and Brazilian football should not be underestimated in order to evaluate foreign football. Donchi also noted that “the best thing is to play with Flamengo”.
“Gerson Olimpique qualified for the Champions League and took the club to second place in France, behind PSG. He reached the contractual targets that generated trophies for CRF and him. He’s not an athlete who got frustrated. BR was knocked out. Playing. Flamengo is the best”Chief countered.
