PIS/Pasep Allowance 2023: When Will It Be Paid?

In December, the federal government approved Salary allowance disbursement schedule for the year 2023, base year 2021. Private sector workers will receive PIS according to the month of birth, while public employees are considered according to the last digit of the Pasep registration number. Who has the right?

All workers in private initiatives and public servants who received a minimum monthly wage at a minimum, on average, in 2021, are entitled to receive the allowance in 2021. The citizen must also have been registered with PIS or Pasep for five years at least.

In the case of workers in the private sector, specifically, it is also necessary to work with an official contract for at least 30 days in 2021.

All citizens still need to have their details properly reported by their employer to the government.

Not eligible for:

• servants and housekeepers
• Rural workers employed by individuals
• Urban workers employed by private individuals
• Workers hired by individuals are equivalent to legal entities

How much will the allowance be?

The amount of the allowance is proportional to the period in which the worker worked with an official contract in 2021. Each working month corresponds to R$110. The maximum benefit – the equivalent of 12 months of work – is one minimum wage.

To get an idea of ​​how much he will get, it is enough for the worker to multiply the number of months he has an official contract in 2021 by R$110. Periods equal to or greater than 15 days count as a full month.

It should be noted that the reference is the applicable minimum wage on the date of payment and not in the base year. That is: although the minimum was lower in 2021 (R$1,100), those who are entitled to the maximum allowance will now receive R$1,320, It is the current value.
