A company specializing in payments brings the Brazilian Pix to Argentina! With this, it will be possible for tourists traveling from Brazil to the neighboring country to use the tool when paying for their purchases.
The last time I was in Buenos Aires, last year, I was able to pay with Pix, but only in institutions with accounts in Brazilian banks.
Now, however, this should be different. The payment will be made using a QR code, with instant conversion into reals, already including IOF and fees related to the exchange process, without the shop or restaurant necessarily having to have an account in Brazil or perform any other type of transaction.
However, to accept the Brazilian Pix, the organization will need to join the Fiserv service.
“Because Fiserv operates in many countries in the region, we are able to adapt technologies locally, improving our customers’ experience.Jorge Valdivia, the company’s general manager in Brazil, explained in a note sent to Valor Econômico newspaper.
With the most powerful Argentine real peso, this can be a good option when it comes to paying bills during your trip, without having to use a credit card or cash.
While this does not become a reality, another alternative is to use an international digital or multi-currency account, such as Nomad or Wise.
So, what do you think of the news? Do you intend to use Pix in Argentina when it becomes available?
“Hardcore beer fanatic. Falls down a lot. Professional coffee fan. Music ninja.”
