Felipe Martins, a former international affairs adviser to the presidency, has an immigration record in the United States with his passport dated December 30, 2022, however, according to Latham, a shipment from Brasilia to Curitiba was in his name a day later.
The ex-consultant's entry into a foreign country was cited as one of the elements justifying his detention.
In a declassified statement to PF this Friday (15), Martins says he did not leave the country at the end of the year and traveled from Brasilia to Curitiba. According to the website Poder360 confirmed Latham to the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
In fact, the PF is investigating whether Felipe Martins traveled to Curitiba — meaning he may have falsified his entry into the United States — or whether he left the country. However, according to investigative evidence, both hypotheses indicate that there was an intention to conceal the location of the person under investigation from the authorities.
According to investigators working on the case, the U.S. Department of Immigration checked Felipe Martins' passport on Dec. 30, 2022, when a team with then-President Jair Bolsonaro arrived in the country.
Also, as showed On the Metropoles website, Filipe Martins in the United States on December 30, 2022 in Orlando, Florida, a record of “arrival” was filled out by all arrivals in the country using the I-94.
STF (Supreme Federal Court) Minister Alexandre de Moraes ordered Latham to report whether Martin had actually boarded the plane.
