The comedy Baixa Terrabia, starring Antonio Fagondes, Ilana Kaplan, Mara Carvalho, Alexandra Martins, Fabio Esposito and Guilherme Magón, prepares for a new stage: The Road.
After a seven-month season in Rio de Janeiro – which ended on July 30, at the Teatro Clara Nunes, in Shopping da Gávea, in the southern district of Rio -, the success of the season in São Paulo (where it premiered in 2017) and performances in the United States and Portugal prepared the mock comedy with a surprise ending – which earned Ilana Kaplan a prize from December 15 to Brazil.
“We are very happy to be able to bring the Baixa treatment to new cities. After the pandemic stopped, it was already exciting to bring it back to São Paulo and, finally, we were able to carry out our season in Rio – which has been extended. It is the immediate response that the audience is enjoying and proof that this show is a success and deserves to be seen by thousands of people,” comments Fagundes.
The sham comedy Matthias del Federico, adapted by Daniel Veronese, translated by Clarice Abugamra and directed by Marco Antonio Pamio, brings together three couples who do not know each other and meet unexpectedly in the office for their usual therapy session. This time, they find out that the psychologist will not be present, and from then on, the audience laughs a lot with their complaints, confessions, suspicions, revelations, truths, and lies in the most ridiculous way for them and the most fun for the audience.
