President Andrés Rueda welcomed the new coach of Santos, Paulo Torra, the sports coordinator, Paulo Roberto Falcao and the member of the management committee, Renato Hagopian, on Saturday morning (24), at CTR Pele. The coach introduced himself and officially signed the contract with Peixe. Along with the leader, Felipe Andrés, Leo Montero and Adair Keist arrived in the technical committee.

“It was a great feeling to be at the helm of one of the biggest clubs in the world, simply Pele’s club. I am very proud and you can be sure that, together with the coaching staff and everyone who is already here at the club, we will do a great job,” said the new coach. “I am absolutely convinced of this.”

Born in Tobarindi, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, Paulo Tura is 49 years old and has played professionally as a defender. After retiring from the field, he worked as an assistant to Luiz Felipe Scolari for six years, with stints at Guangzhou Evergrande (China), Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, Grêmio and Athletico-PR.

In the Coritiba team, Tora took over the technical leadership at the start of 2023, where he was the champion of Paraná and left the position last week with 73% of the use of points contested this year.

I’m so thirsty and I want to be here. In addition to the great responsibility of representing this giant Shield, I know that Santos FC is a good structure to support us. We will first seek to give face to the team and thus seek the path of victories. We know the cast very well, both collectively and individually. I ask Santos to trust our work, because we are going with a knife in our teeth to represent this great club very well, “concluded the coach.
