“I was always a tricolour, I was always a Fluminense. There were only three of us in my family, and my mother’s whole family was from Vasco. Even my older brother, who is my father’s eldest son, is a Basque fan.”
“My father always encouraged us to go to the field and follow football from a very young age. The striker was scouted by Vasco in 2017, when he turned professional. After that, he was traded to Bayer Leverkusen, where he stayed until 2023, when he arrived at Atletico.
Paulinho scored 47 goals and made 12 assists in 110 matches with Atletico, and won two titles: the Minas Gerais Championship in 2023 and 2024. He also played with Leverkusen in 79 matches and 35 matches with Vasco.
The striker also played one match for the Brazilian national team, in 2023, when he was called up while playing for Atletico.
