Tomorrow will be another special day in Brazilian aviation, with the farewell of the Boeing 727 heading to its new “home” in another country.
Total Linhas Aéreas was the last operator of Boeing’s classic triple-jets, and with the delivery of the Boeing 737s, it is replacing its aging fleet with newer aircraft for cargo operations.
In September, commercial operations of the 727-200F ended, and now this aircraft says goodbye to the country. The company confirmed to AEROIN that tomorrow, October 29, the commercial triplane, registered in the country with registration number PR-TTW, will depart for Africa.
The 727 is expected to take off from Florianópolis at 7:30 a.m. and land in Guarulhos at 9:00 a.m. From the country’s largest airport, the plane will depart at noon, landing in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, at 3 p.m.
From Natal International Airport, the plane, now piloted by a foreign crew, will continue on to Africa. In this way, the Boeing 727 cycle for Brazilian operators will end once and for all, unless some companies return to using the model one day.
The landing and take-off of the classic plane at Guarulhos Airport can be watched live on the following screens, which show live cameras from the “Golf Oscar Romeo” YouTube channel:
