Thymol has a beneficial effect on coughing up phlegm, as it helps prevent possible infection resulting from mucus accumulation. Antioxidants also help reduce the risk of cancer. Its antifungal and antimicrobial effect also works against recurrent mycoses and candidiasis, for example.
Oregano tea
Pregnant and breastfeeding women are prohibited from consuming oregano tea, as some substances can interfere with hormones, lead to relaxation of the cervix and even cause serious problems during pregnancy, such as deformities and even miscarriage. Breastfeeding women should also avoid it, as there are no studies proving its safety during this period.
If this is not your case, oregano tea is a good option for your health. To prepare it, add a teaspoon of oregano leaves to a cup of boiling water and leave it on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain to remove the leaves, wait for the liquid to cool and consume as soon as possible.
