New Twingo? Renault will prepare another generation

The Renault Twingo is 30 years old and has been one of the most beloved revolutionary cars in Europe and in places like Brazil where, unfortunately, it was never produced.

Small, versatile, agile and economical, the Twingo has undergone changes over three decades, but its essence has been lost even in the fusion of DNA with the Franco-German Smart.

Without the Germans, Renault was now considering another generation of the Twingo, but, unlike previous generations, this one wants to save the original model completely, according to Auto Journal.

Fully electric, as it would have been in the 90s, if there was technology for it, the New Twingo will have the task of bringing back this exciting project that has loyal fans in Brazil.

The idea is to be a compact car as always, 3.60 meters long, with two doors and four seats, plus a sliding rear seat.

With a new 30 kWh battery, the new Twingo will have a reduced weight and up to 300 kilometers of autonomy in the WLTP cycle and thus be quickly charged at low-energy recharging points.

In one prediction, the magazine opines that this New Twingo is practically a reinterpretation of the first one and this will serve as an important nostalgic point to attract consumers looking for a good idea of ​​the past in the new era.

Keeping the front with simple almond-shaped headlights, and now with LED projectors and a visual signature with LEDs, the new Twingo envisions that it will retain the small triple air intakes in the small hood, as well as a cabin designed for those inside.

Integrated door handles, a good glass area and a “grace” in the C-pillars to unite the past with the future would be the aesthetic solutions for this entry-level small hatch.

The interior of a new Twingo with this focus will only have a central display with inductive charging on a hanging console, several storage compartments and its own seat reclining system.
