Cargo traffic at Santa Catarina airports will increase by 25.3% in 2023 over the previous year. The development was confirmed by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), which announced the closure of data across Brazil. This information contrasted with the national scenario, which closed the period with a fall of 1.17%.

Through the state's airports, there were 14.4 thousand tons, Florianópolis airport growing the most (32% compared to 2022). In 2023, 7.4 thousand tons were moved through the capital, of which 4.9 thousand were national cargo and 2.4 thousand were international cargo.
It is important to highlight that in December 2023, LATAM Cargo increased the frequency of cargo flights between Florianópolis Airport and the United States. With this, the capital of Santa Catarina now has four weekly flights on the Miami-Florianopolis route, meeting the demand of the southern countries.
The investment has increased the route's capacity by 33%, which will now carry more than 160 tonnes per week to meet the demand for electronics, medical supplies and general cargo from Santa Catarina, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, LATAM said.

In 2023, Avianca launched a weekly cargo route between Florianopolis and Miami.
The cargo ranking of the state continues with Navegantes with 5 thousand tons, Joinville with 1 thousand tons, Chapeco with 747 tons, Jaguaruna with 142 tons and Correia Pinto with 5 tons.
