More details about the police riot near the Capitol came to light

Capitol police said the suspect was shot and killed after he got out of his car and pulled out a knife after the collision. The attacker was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

One of the police officers also lost his life. Called the deceased colleague William Evans, who had been a member of the staff for 18 years. The other police officer was taken to the hospital by paramedics.

According to the American press, the attacker was identified as Noah Green. He sympathized with an extremist organization called the Islamic Nation, which primarily attracted African Americans. The 25-year-old, who lives in Virginia, described himself as a “Fargan follower” on his Facebook page. Louis Fargan, the leader of the Islamic State who restructured the movement since 1978 and returned to a former racist attitude.

The Capitol was locked after the shooting and staff were barred from leaving the building, but the lock was removed a few hours after what happened. Capital Police Chief Executive Yogananda Pitman said the suspect attacked two officers on the north side of the Capitol and then collided with one of the concrete roadblocks. The driver got out of the car with a knife in his hand and did not respond to police calls. He was shot when he left for police.

This does not seem to be an act of terrorism

Metropolitan Police Chief Executive Robert Candy spoke at the press conference. He said further investigations were underway and that they would investigate whether the driver who was shot had any connection with any terrorist organization. According to initial reports, the culprit had not been brought to the attention of the police before, Gandhi said.

Soldiers of the National Guard at the scene immediately rushed to the aid of the police and were called Rapid Response Forces near the Capitol. According to press reports, none of them are in trouble. In Washington, D.C., about 2,300 soldiers from the National Guard continue to support officers.

Democrat Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi ordered the halving of the Capitol flag after the incident. U.S. President Joe Biden is not at the White House near the Legislature because he spends the Easter holidays at the Presidential Palace in Camp David, Maryland. In a statement, the president wrote that he and his wife, Jill Biden, were anxious to hear what had happened.
