In northern Mexico, the mayor and a group of employees of a small municipality near the US border have gone missing. Kidnapped by armed menGovernment officials said on Saturday the 15th.

The border city of Nuevo Laredo is in the neighboring state of Tamaulipas and has long been known for violent clashes between organized crime gangs.

Cedillo’s wife and son were among the missing, a senior politician in Coahuila told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
