National mourning continues in the United Kingdom and funeral rites to honor Queen Elizabeth will continue until her burial, scheduled for Monday 19. King Charles III has declared a national holiday in the United Kingdom and the funeral will be held for the public from Wednesday 14.
On the morning of Wednesday the 14th, we saw members of the royal family track the casket on foot and in a large procession, as they did with the bodies of Princess Diana and the Duke of Edinburgh.
After the Queen’s casket arrived at Westminster Hall, the general public had the opportunity to see the King’s coffin and could do so until Sunday the 18th, just as they were able to do the same at the Queen Mother’s funeral in 2002.
During the entrance to Westminster Hall, family members attended a small celebration held by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Meghan Markle is seen alongside Prince Harry, walking right behind Kate Middleton. She was wearing a pair of pearl and diamond earrings given to her by the Queen herself. The Duchess tied her hair in a low bun.
The earrings were a gift from the Queen to mark her first engagement together, in 2018. Just a month after Meghan married Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex joined the Queen on a ride on the Royal Train to Cheshire, about 200 miles from London, where they met leaders community and watched a performance by children from the local school.
