Senegalese-American singer Mariam will release, on Friday (1), her new song: “2 Oceans”. In collaboration with North American Trevor Hall, the audio, which debuts with a video clip, arrives in the first hour of the day. In the single, the artists deal with what it’s like to deal with internal struggles while dealing with the outside world.
The production was signed by Hall himself. Directed by Natasha Ali and recorded in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka, the audiovisual film follows the simplicity of everyday life and the protagonist’s search for balance throughout his journey.
About the track, Maryam says, “It’s always about love, ‘2 Oceans’ is about how to get there, how to find balance in this crazy world where if you focus on the things you can’t control, you’ll sink.”
Located in the United States, Marieme collects references from Senegal, taking reference names such as Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone and Bob Marley. The artist has already collaborated with Luísa Sonza and Bruno Martini on Don’t Worry, released in 2021. That same year, she hits a hit. With Diarra Sylla, formerly Nao United, on “Catch a Vibe” – which has racked up over 340,000 views on Youtube.
