Marcus Mion always shares with his followers his relationship with his eldest son, Romeo, who has autism. This time, the presenter told about the experience he had with the boy for ten days while his wife, Susanna Gullu, was traveling with the couple’s other children, Tivo and Donina.
Mion shared that Romeo is about to turn eighteen and he realizes that he won’t often be able to, for example, take a trip alone. However, he feels very important, as the “angel’s guardian, voice and facilitator” so that the firstborn can go through different trials in life.
“Romeo will travel alone? Will he have the cognitive capacity to handle and deal with a busy, noisy airport, flights that change gates (like the one we are), and grumpy, rude airport staff (here in the US almost 100%)? No, no,” he said.
“He won’t be able to travel alone. And do you know how I feel? I feel his importance! I feel like a guardian of an angel. The voice and facilitator of my son’s desires. This for a father is proof of his existence,” the presenter completed in part of the transcript.
On World Autism Awareness Day in 2022, during an interview with Conversa Com Biel, Marcus Meon said that fighting for people with autism has become a goal for life.
“I have entertainment and art as a mission, but also a God-given purpose for me, in the form of the greatest love of my life. A purpose is something you do because other people need you to do it,” he said.
“Prone to fits of apathy. Problem solver. Twitter buff. Wannabe music advocate.”
