Marcelo Teixeira, who was elected president of Santos on Saturday, had already begun his planning even before he was installed in the position.
One of these plans involves a possible change in leadership of the football format, which is currently led by Alexandre Gallo.
Initially, Teixeira’s idea was to keep Alexandre Gallo in charge of football at the club, as he was the one who appointed Rueda as coordinator.
However, as reported by Diario, the new president has been advised to sack Gallo and the entire current technical committee.
Alexandre Gallo arrived at the club mid-season, last August, after the dismissal of former coordinator Paulo Roberto Falcao. After 117 days of work, the coordinator made the decision to dismiss coach Aguirre after a series of defeats, and appoint Marcelo Fernandez in his place. As for signings, Gallo brought Alfredo Morelos, Maxi Silveira and Tomas Rincon to the team. The coordinator’s current contract expires in December 2024.
