In a duel between two potential rivals in the G-4 of the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen beat RB Leipzig. And the team, led by Xabi Alonso, defeated the German Super Cup champion 3-2, on Saturday, at home. Frimpong, Tah and Wirtz scored for the hosts and Olmo and Upenda scored for the visitors (See goals below).

With the win, Leverkusen starts ahead in a dispute that promises to play at the top of the table, adding three points and finishing fifth, on goal difference. RB Leipzig did not score and is in 14th place.
The encounter was marked by a strange scene at the start of the second half, when a fan felt ill and had to receive medical attention near the sector where the organized Leverkusen supporters are. So, the group used flags to cover the area where the fan was being treated by the paramedics.

The hosts took the lead in the 24th minute, with Frimpong, and extended it with Tah in the 35th minute. However, in the first half, Dani Olmo contracted to RB Leipzig, with the score at 2-1 at the end of the preliminary stage.
In the second half, RB Leipzig went ahead, chasing an equaliser, but Wirtz scored the third goal for Leverkusen and injected a dose of calm into the home crowd. However, seven minutes later, Openda closed the gap again. The visitors had a chance to equalise, as did a try in which Openda missed two stunning goals in a row. However, the result has not changed.
