This means the Urus Performante can be genuinely fun, composed and intuitive, even if its exterior personality emerges entirely from the powertrain and chassis. With every heavy-duty, high-speed brute, adequate driving satisfaction is always elusive.
Also, the penalty for operator manipulation is very high. The new suspension is perma-reactive and the ride quality is acceptable only when the road surface is intact or when heavy loads are placed on the suspension. So maybe five percent. The rest of the time would be better in a regular car or even better in Aston’s DBX 707. The truth is, the Urus Performante is clearly ill-suited for this country’s roads and you can tell from the first to the last minute of your journey, luxurious cabin or not.
Like a great, asphalt scraper, Lamborghini would argue that anything bearing the name ‘Performance’ must be a complete, unabashed dynamo. Hurricane performs. Fair point, but even in this age of wild chimera creations, you could easily argue that infusing the Urus with Performante DNA might be too much genetic editing.
