Kobinha: 11 more teams secure an early place in the second stage | SP Junior Football Cup

The 26 matches that took place on Saturday, the fifth day of the São Paulo de Futebol Junior Cup, determined the early seeding of 11 additional teams for the second stage of the tournament:

São Paulo ended up losing 2-0 to Carajas PA, but turned the score back to 3-2 and, as a result, led Ferroviaria to the knockout rounds.

Now 13 of the 64 vacancies have been filled, with Atletico PR and Ceara booking their tickets on Friday – and all of those seeded have already enjoyed 100% success so far, with two wins in two matches.

Corinthians came close to qualifying on Saturday after scoring 1-0 at the Banjo Stadium and reaching six points, but Marilia's 2-0 win over G Paraná left the decision to the final round of Group J.

There are 128 teams divided into 32 groups. The top two teams in each group qualify for the knockout stage, with one match to the final (in the event of a tie, the dispute goes to penalty kicks).

The decision is scheduled to be made on January 25, Sao Paulo's anniversary, but the location has not yet been announced.
