Princess Kate has appeared in public for the first time in months after announcing her cancer diagnosis three months ago. She’s taking part in the King Charles III Birthday Parade, an event known as Trooping The Colour, on Saturday (6/15). She confirmed her presence at the event yesterday by sharing a message on Instagram. “I’m looking forward to attending the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend,” Kate said in the post.

The Princess of Wales also used the post to update the public on her health. He said he was making “good progress, but as anyone who has gone through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days.” He also added that the treatment should continue for a few more months. He added: “On bad days, you feel weak and tired and need to surrender your body to rest. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of the feeling of well-being.”
Kate underwent abdominal surgery on January 17. After that, she spent days without appearing in public, until she revealed that she was undergoing treatment for cancer in a video she posted on social media. The official announcement came shortly after King Charles III announced that he also suffers from this condition, without specifying its type.
The 75-year-old king continues his treatment, and in April doctors said they were “encouraged” by the progress made, which allowed him to resume his official duties. Trooping The Colour, celebrated on Saturday, is a tradition dating back to the 18th century to celebrate the King’s birthday in mid-June. King Charles’ official birthday is only November 14, but this date allows his subjects to set aside a day to celebrate the king’s life.
