A poll shows that the American people believe that Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat) is more honest than Donald Trump (Republican). Moreover, nearly half of those interviewed said so. “Committed to democracy” and “disciplined” These are the factors that best describe the Democratic front-runner for the White House.
The poll was released on Wednesday (August 14, 2024) by AFP (Associated Press) The poll was conducted among 1,164 adults from Aug. 8 to 12. The margin of error is 3.8 percentage points (pp).
Republican candidate Donald Trump had a narrow edge in the poll on the economy and immigration. About 45% of those interviewed thought Trump was handling the economy better, and 38% said the same about Kamala.
The current vice president was cited most often on issues of race, abortion rights and inequality. Half think Kamala would handle these issues better, while 3 in 10 say the same of Trump.
About 4 in 10 describe Kamala as “someone who cares about you”And 3 in 10 say that about Trump.
Some issues point to a technical tie. One is whether Kamala or Trump will win the November election. When Biden was still the candidate, only 2 in 10 Americans believed the Democrat would win.
Other topics related to the survey include who would be better able to handle crises and which of them would be a stronger leader for the country.
