Journalist Chico Pinheiro leaves Red Globo

journalist Chico Benero Rede Globo left on Friday (29/4). The news was spread through an internal communication sent to the station’s employees.

The letter, signed by Rede Globo’s Director of Press, Ali Kamel, states that the journalist left the radio after 32 years “by mutual agreement” with Globo.

After 51 years of daily journalism, 32 of them in Globo, by agreement with the announcer, Chico decided to leave the everyday life of the reporter, insisting on identifying himself. He intends to take time off, and later devote himself to activities at an infrequent pace,” he reads an excerpt from the note.

“And he agreed with me that he will wait for the end of another wonderful transfer of the Carnival, to which he has dedicated 20 years, so that this announcement can be made, on Friday,” he adds, recalling that Chico was in the live broadcast of the São Paulo Carnival.

Kamel also thanks Chico for the services rendered to the station: “From us, from his colleagues and friends, it is a confession that he lived in the editing room with one of the great journalists already produced by Brazilian television and one of the ‘good people’ with whom we share stories and experiences. Between me and Chico there is affection and friendship. And many Fridays will come. I thank him on behalf of Globo for all the contribution he has made to our press.”
