Hey JE Globo Reveal one of the potential clubs interested in James Rodriguez when the next window opens. He is the Spanish Celta, from the city of Vigo.
Hey BrandA popular Spanish daily newspaper confirmed this interest but highlighted the player’s lack of use at Tricolor: 22 matches in ten months at the three-time world champion club. The portal classified the situation as “complicated” and that the Copa America tournament will be decisive for the player’s future.
James Rodriguez, who is now in Colombia preparing for the Copa America, will most likely not return to Sao Paulo to play but will end his contract and prepare for a new career path.
In addition to Celta, who was unveiled this week, American and Mexican clubs have also shown interest in the midfielder’s services but so far no offer has reached São Paulo.
Tricolor are encouraged by James’ success in the Copa America because they want to return the investment they made last year in signing the Colombian midfielder and, if possible, the months’ salary they had the athlete at their disposal.
I don’t have exact figures on how much Tricolor, the rights holder, is asking James for. He is certainly in double digits for Real and an interested club should keep that idea in mind. It won’t be free.
In the microphones, Sao Paulo does not consider the midfielder’s journey a failure in Brazil, because it sees that the context of James’ arrival is a change in level at the club. A kind of threshold for the return of other national team players to the club.
However, the club will not release James without the minimum compensation it deems fair. James loves the Spanish destination as he has already publicly shown interest in the post-match microphones. It remains to be seen whether he will give up what he supposedly receives from Tricolor.
As Casares himself said a few days ago: “It should be good for everyone.”
