Israeli soldiers will be investigated after photos and videos were published showing them handling and “playing” with women's underwear, such as underwear and bras, found in abandoned homes in the Palestinian territories.
In the posts, soldiers could be seen holding panties close to the face of a colleague pretending to sleep on a sofa, pictures of a soldier carrying a mannequin from behind, and a soldier holding a half-naked children's doll.
The images in question were posted publicly on YouTube and Instagram and, as a result, received many views. YouTube removed a video clip that violated the platform's rules, while Instagram did not comment on the matter.
In order to denounce these actions, a Palestinian reporter named Younis Al-Tirawi re-published some video clips denouncing the operation and sent them to the news agency. Reuterswho verified the authenticity of approximately eight posts and, after analyzing them to ensure the validity of the information, sent them to the IDF.
According to the institution, the soldiers are being investigated and will be held accountable for their actions.
“In cases where a crime is suspected and investigation is warranted, the military police initiate an investigation. The Israeli army said in a statement sent to: “It must be made clear that in some of the cases examined, it was concluded that the behavior of the soldiers in the video was inappropriate, and this will be dealt with accordingly.” Reuters.
