Iran said on Monday that the United States must ensure that talks on reactivating the nuclear deal signed between Tehran and the world powers in 2015 do not fail.
Indirect talks between Iran and the United States came to a standstill in June after the election of tough Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, and is expected to resume in Vienna on November 29 to find ways to renew the agreement.
Former US President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the agreement three years ago and resumed sanctions against Iran.
Echoing the official position, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Gaddafi said the United States should remove all sanctions against its country through a verifiable process and “admit its mistake in canceling the agreement.”
Ali Bakeri-Gani, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, will travel this week as deputy foreign minister for political affairs to the capitals of the three European countries that have signed the nuclear deal, Gaddafi said.
