Federal Revenue has extended from April 29 to May 31 the deadline for filing an income tax return for 2022. This is the third year in a row that this has occurred due to the pandemic.
In addition to approving the annual income tax adjustment for individuals, the tax authorities have also postponed the deadline for sending the final inheritance declaration and declaring final departure from the country.

The change was published on Tuesday (5) in the Official Gazette of the Federation, under Normative Instructions No.
“The extension is intended to mitigate any effects arising from the Covid-19 pandemic that may make it difficult to fill in and submit data correctly, as some bodies and companies are still not fully providing their services to normal,” the tax authorities say.

The calculated tax due date has also been pushed back to the end of May, but refunds will follow the previous schedule, unchanged. (See IR 2022 recovery calendar here).
The allowed dates for automatic deduction are now May 10 for the first payment and until May 31 for other payments (eg: for statements sent after May 10, the first installment must be paid with DARF).
