Investor Attention: Copel (CPLE6) has not been announced by JCP

Several websites announced this Wednesday, 4th, that Copel (CPLE6) announced a principal interest payment (JCP).

The information is wrong. Copel did not notify JCP of the payment. There is no notice to shareholders on the company’s Investor Relations website or on the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM) website.

The source of the error could be two documents uploaded to the CVM website on Tuesday 3.

This is a paraphrasing of the minutes of the Copel Geração e Transmissão and Copel Distribuição board meetings held on December 15th. These records dealt with the payment of royalties.

However, it is important to remember that these are only two Copel subsidiaries (CPLE6, CPLE11).

Copel’s last earnings announcement was on November 21 (Access here).
