INSS announces new change that makes life easier for retirees!

Currently, there are more than 40 million Brazilians who are pensioners or retirees in the National Social Security Institute. Even with the review of benefits, the trend is to approve more citizens to receive payments. For these people, the government has released important news regarding the salary loan that is deducted directly from the benefit salaries.

What are the changes to the INSS salary loan?

As of January 1, policyholders will be able to apply for a salary loan once they are approved and start receiving their retirement or pension benefits. Currently, there is a 90-day ban after the benefit is granted, during which the insured cannot apply for the credit.

Initially, the credit must be released only by the bank where the benefit is paid. Another important change is that during the first 90 days, the insured will not be able to transfer salary loans and salary cards to other financial institutions.

What is the interest rate on INSS salary loan?

Currently, the interest rate on personal loans from INSS is 1.66% per month. In the case of a salary credit card, the rate is 2.46% per month. This means that the terms of obtaining credit are relatively favorable compared to other types of loans.

How to get a loan from INSS?

Since 2018, INSS benefits have been granted with a preliminary block, a necessary measure to protect citizens from fraud. To access salary loans, you must unlock the benefit.
