Two minutes before the attack the ship began to drift
In the early hours of Tuesday (26) the ship failed to go under the bridge and collided with its pylon. At least six people fell into the Patapsco River and have not been found. On Tuesday night, Maryland police said the victims were “probably” dead, given the time since their disappearance and the low water temperature. The divers will resume the search this Wednesday morning (27).
MarineTraffic data at Baltimore local time indicates:
- 1:23 am: The ship was traveling in a straight line, at 140 degrees, towards the center span of the bridge, at a speed of 15.7 kmph.
- 1:25 am: The ship begins to deviate to the right at 141 degrees at a speed of 16.1 km/h. Images show the ship's lights turned off
- 1:27 am: Impact occurs on one of the pillars of the bridge at 152 degrees and 14 km/h.
