“Ilumina”: a project that brings together artists from different countries in free concerts throughout São Paulo | Music

During the festival, the participants meet the best soloists, from different places, in the form of immersion – not only in the musical context, but also, and fundamentally, in coexistence: rehearsing and living together in the headquarters of the initiative, located in Fazenda Environmental Fortaleza, within São Paulo.

By putting the participants in contact with professionals from the most important conservatories in the world, the procedure opens the way for the possibility of improvement outside the country. In recent editions, more than 100 scholarships have been awarded to the largest international universities, with a total investment of more than 3 million Brazilian reals, thanks to the mediation with financiers and institutions with bureaucratic support and technical preparation of these young people.

An American violinist, a graduate of two of the major music institutions in the United States (Curtis Institute and Juilliard School), Jennifer conceived the project with the hopes of creating innovative performances and practically promoting this movement in search of change. In 2004, he was in Brazil for the first time when he worked with guys from the São Paulo State School of Music: “I was dazzled. The talent, the humanity, the eagerness to grow even in the face of social and economic challenges: I had never experienced anything like it in my life.
