Krafton shared news about Tango Gameworks, following the purchase of the Japanese studio and the Hi-Fi Rush IP from Microsoft. It was revealed that the developer was already working on Hi-Fi Rush 2 when it was acquired by the South Korean distributor.

Maria Park, head of corporate development at Crafton, said in an interview GI.biz (via IGN) Tango had been in the making of Hi-Fi Rush 2 for six months when the two companies first came together, but the sequel is currently on hold until Microsoft finishes transferring all Krafton-related materials.

“They want to make sure the game exceeds fans’ expectations.”Park said of the new game. “For example, part of the feedback about Hi-Fi Rush was that some people felt that way [apenas] Through factories, so now they want to provide some kind of experience for a more open world. Additionally, Park revealed that Tango Gameworks wants to create more downloadable content for Hi-Fi Rush and bring the game to other platforms, such as Switch. She also stated that the studio was making content to celebrate the anniversary of The Evil Within, which will likely never see the light of day.

Also according to Park, about 70 to 80 of Tango’s 90 employees have joined Krafton through the end of the developer’s acquisition, and she also said that some hires will be made to fill positions Tango currently needs immediately. This way, the total number of collaborators in the studio will increase to “About 90 to 100 by the end of the year or the beginning of next year.”

Finally, Park said Tango has a new online co-op game in development, and Krafton wants to use its gaming-as-a-service experience to… “Help take it to a new level.”
