Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be “torn” over whether to return to the UK to set up a base where Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet can be close to their cousins, uncles and aunts.
Sources revealed to Mirror Reports suggest that if the couple choose to reside in Harry’s native country, they plan to “purchase a house in the UK on their own” rather than ask King Charles for a stake in the royal estate.
An insider revealed: “The couple are divided over the issue, but they will soon begin searching for their own property near London, with Harry leading the charge.” “They will not ask the King for ownership of the royal estate because of the problems that have arisen with Frogmore Cottage.”
A second source added: “The occasional use of a bungalow in Kensington Palace is not out of the question, but when it comes to a house in the UK, they will get it themselves.”
As Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet grow, so does the question of where the children will be educated.
“Harry has more reasons to return to the UK than Meghan, so I think we will see those trips, especially if he is involved in events like the Invictus Games where most of the people involved are in London,” Duncan said. “Meghan is unlikely to want to spend much time in the UK.”
Harry and Meghan’s decision on a potential move to the UK is still a topic of debate, but they seem determined to take matters into their own hands and find a suitable home for their royal family.
