The law that established the minimum salary for nursing workers was approved last year, and provides for the following amounts:

  • Nurses: 4750 Brazilian reals
  • Nursing Technicians: 3325 Brazilian reals
  • Nursing assistants: R$2,375;
  • Midwives: 2375 Brazilian real.

In April of this year, President Lula sent a bill asking for space in the budget to be opened up to ensure the nursing floor is paid off. The proposal was approved and now approved by Lula.

Even with the release of R$7.3 billion in financial aid, the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) claims the amount is insufficient.

Entity calculations showed that the impact, for municipalities alone, was R$10.5 billion in the first year. In addition, the union questions the division of resources between states and municipalities.
