Gospel singer Bobbi Storm surprised her followers by sharing a video, where she appears to be grabbing attention mid-flight. In the photos, she is arguing with a flight attendant who asks her to be quiet, and even asks her to sit down after complaints from other passengers. The American could have used the plane’s aisles as a stage for a small show.
Bobby sits down but complains about being scolded. After a while, she addressed the passengers next to her seat and explained to them that she was happy to be nominated for two Grammy Awards, so she decided to thank them in the form of a song. Without ceremony, she promised to sing other, “softer” songs.
Upset, the passengers called the crew again to resolve the situation and the singer was forced to remain silent until the end of the flight. After the episode, Storm made a new video and stated that she didn’t understand the whole controversy, as she always sang on planes. He also said that God called him to sing at that moment. “It was my mission.”
Bobbi Storm, who has 175,000 followers on Instagram, was criticized by many Internet users for the situation, and the video spread widely in the United States. The airline responsible for the flight, Delta, was forced to comment on the ongoing controversy, warning of respect for passengers inside the plane. “For the safety of our customers and crew, it is always important to follow instructions.”
As the case raged, The New York Times waded into the controversy, highlighting that the nominations cited by Bobbi Storm were not individual, but rather shared with Maverick City Music for Best Gospel Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music/Performance.
