The beginning of the tests was published by Netflix on its official blog, where it explains that users in Canada and the United Kingdom will be able to use their cell phones with controls on smart TVs with the following operating systems:
- Amazon FireTV;
- Chromecast with Google TV;
- LG TVs with WebOS;
- Nvidia Shield;
- Devices and TVs with Roku;
- Samsung Smart TVs;
- Walmart ONN.
The Netflix game streaming platform currently only has two titles, Oxenfree and Mollyhoo’s Mining Adventure. The blog post says:
By making the games available on more devices, we hope to make it even easier for our members around the world to play the games. While we are still at the beginning of our gaming journey, we are excited to bring joy to members through games. We look forward to hearing feedback from our beta testers as we continue on the path forward.
Finally, Netflix says it will expand game streaming support to more platforms in the future, including support for Windows and macOS with keyboard and mouse compatibility.
