Galvão Bueno announced Thursday (24) that he will be leaving Globo at the end of this year, after 41 years of service. Al-Rawi’s contract with the network expires at the end of the year and will not be renewed. His last job will be as a TV presenter at the World Cup finals in Qatar between November and December. The presenter will do another job, but will not sign a new TV.
“Farewell game. Last match for the national team in Brazil before the cup! Last match for Tite in Brazil as team coach! My last match for the national team in the Maracana on TV!”, he wrote on Twitter.
According to a survey conducted by the Notícias da TV portal with people from the Galvão Bueno employees, the information is correct. In a conversation with newspaper O Globo, also published on Thursday (24), Galvão confirmed that his current contract as sponsor will be terminated, but made a point that he would leave the doors open to his future. “The globe is my home. So, our conversation at this point is: What will happen, how will we leave the doors open and which door will be used after December 18th. It is impossible in the world to say ‘No, never’. Life taught me that. The narrator said, in This stage, I would say, broadcast television narration, no more.
The column found that Galvão Bueno will focus on his work in social networks and advertising, which has yielded good results. He also commits not to go to a new TV. Globo will be your priority in negotiating jobs.
“Prone to fits of apathy. Problem solver. Twitter buff. Wannabe music advocate.”
