“Our recommendation is not to use ivermectin for Covid-19 patients, regardless of the level of symptom severity or duration,” Janet Diaz, head of the UN agency’s Covid-19 clinical response team, said at a press conference.
Tedros Adhannon’s photo was taken from a TV report released on March 12 about a request made by some European doctors to use the drug.
But the post omits that at the time of Adhanon’s presentation, the report highlights, in fact, that the World Health Organization has released studies revealing the drug’s ineffectiveness.

“ Infarmed, through its Medicines Evaluation Committee, analyzed and informed the available articles and publications that it is understood that to date, due to methodological limitations in trials in which ivermectin was used, and doubts about the appropriate dosage and safety in the context of infection with SARS-CoV -2, there is no evidence to support the use of this drug in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19.
