Striker Gabigol provoked left-back Marcelo during the derby match between Flamengo and Fluminense on Tuesday evening (16), at the Maracana stadium, the first leg of the 16th round of the Brazilian Cup.
Right at the start of the first half, Gabriel looked at Marcelo and, laughing, pointed to the Brazil Cup champion patch on the red and black jersey.
Flamengo is the current champion of the Brazilian Cup. The Red and Black team defeated Corinthians in the final. On the other hand, Fluminense was eliminated by the Sao Paulo team in the semi-finals.
And Gabigol, by the way, scored one of the goals in the penalty shootout. Marcelo, in turn, was defending Olympiacos from Greece. The left-back returned to Fluminense earlier this year, after 17 years.
Gabigol and Marcelo faced each other in the final of the Campeonato Carioca. The Fluminense player opened the scoring in the 4-1 win that gave the team the state title. On one of the bids, still in the first phase, Marcelo recovered the ball from Gabigol after a careful tackle.
