Several banners were put up outside Javea. “Whoever is against the stadium is against the nation”, “The stadium is the desire of every red and black nation”, “Flamengo is not Madonna”, “Braconic, banker, enemy of the nation” and “PAP elitism” were the slogans. The messages displayed. The latter two mention Luis Eduardo Baptista, of the PAP party, who will run in the elections as an opposition, and Claudio Braconic, the former financial deputy who will support the candidate.
Counselors were prohibited from using cell phones. Everyone had to leave it in a sealed bag during the session to avoid leaks.
The main question for the board members was about the continuity plan. The vote was expected to be largely positive, and that was confirmed.
The opinions of the Council’s permanent financial, legal and marketing committees and the opinion of the Supervisory Board were read. Afterwards, the debate was opened and some advisors spoke, including the Progress Party and Mauricio de Gómez Matos, candidates for the presidential elections.
The Legal Committee’s opinion acknowledges uncertainty. The document suggests the club may need to pay a difference in the future if Caixa is able to increase the value in court.
The Finance Committee read an opinion in which it tried to impose some conditions – which were not accepted. These include preventing the club from resorting to the Saudi Football Federation, as well as guarantees that investments in football will not decline and that Fala will not resort to loans exceeding 20% of its annual net revenues to finance the work.
