On Thursday morning, the City of Cascavel released an Epidemiological Bulletin of Arboviruses, which presents data on dengue, Zika and Chikungunya recorded in the 2022/2023 epidemiological calendar. The 2022/2023 calendar began in week 31 (07/31/2022) and ends in week 30 (07/29/2023).
So far, the municipality has already recorded 28 positive cases of dengue fever, and due to the heat and rainy period, there are concerns about the spread of mosquitoes.
In the past 4 weeks, no positive cases of the disease have been recorded, but remember that test results sometimes take a long time to count.
Vector control is not only a function of the public sector, it is up to each citizen to take care of his residence (whether it is a house, apartment or farm), and to adopt measures that prevent the spread of the vector. Among the measures to be adopted are the storage of all solid waste – rubbish, until its collection; Be careful with gutters, porches, and water tanks, but because of the summer rains that are common at this time of year, be careful with things where water can accumulate.
In recent weeks, the Ministry of Health launched procedures for solid waste collection buckets, in areas where LIRAa was higher than recommended by the Ministry of Health. In the past four weeks, more than 76,000 kg of waste has been collected.
