Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced donations of millions of dollars to NGOs working to advance gender equality through new donations. The official home page for Monday’s founding, The Archewell Foundation, has been announced. In all, four organizations will receive grants, including Smart Works, a British charity that helps women find jobs and provides training and professional clothing for job interviews.

“As we approach Women’s History Month and ahead of International Women’s Day next week, the Archewell Foundation is announcing a series of not-for-profit investments in pioneering organizations that advance gender equality, build policies that empower women and families, and ensure meaningful media,” said the Duchess and Duchess. Meghan Markle became patron of a British NGO in January 2019, when she was still a member of the British Royal Family, and has continued to support the foundation even after leaving the Crown in early 2020. In an interview with Hello! Magazine, CEO of Smart Works said: “We are very grateful to Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex and the Archewell Foundation for their continued support of Smart Works’ mission and continued growth. Whether in person or remotely, we are committed to providing women with the tools they need to feel confident at such a critical time in their lives, Our research will shed light on the challenges they face.”

In addition to this foundation, Meghan and Harry’s donations will go to The 19th Independent, the National Center for Women’s Law, the Anti-Poverty Center, and the Anti-Poverty and Inequality Center at Georgetown University Law Center.
