Who has the right?
Workers who have been registered in PIS/Pasep for at least five years and who have formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year considered, are entitled to benefits, at an average monthly wage up to a minimum wage. It is also essential that the employer has properly reported the data in the annual Social Information (Rais) report.
The amount of the allowance is proportional to the period during which the employee worked under a formal contract in 2020. Each work month equals a benefit of R$101, with periods equal to or greater than 15 days counted as a full month. Those who worked for 12 months under a formal contract would receive the full minimum wage, which is currently R$1,212.
The benefit is not paid to domestic workers. This is because a salary bonus requires a business relationship with a company, not another individual. Young apprentices are also not eligible.
