The young woman was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison and released in February 2021 for good conduct. She was re-arrested the following month, and her visa expired.
Anna was detained at ICE, the headquarters of the Immigration and Customs Agency. A spokesman for the site told AFP today that he was “in ICE custody awaiting eviction” without elaborating.
